I have an Extang tri-fold and it works well for towing and as a general purpose cover. Items such as firewood stay relatively dry in the front third of the bed when towing. No security without a locking tailgate. It does drip enough to keep things wet inside and doesn't have any ventilation to help dry the bed out. I've added extra seals which help.
