Looking to Rent Fifth Wheel/Travel Trailer South Dakota

My wife and I are planning a trip to South Dakota July 2015. We are wanting to rent a 5th wheel/travel trailer. Looking for something 30+ ft with multiple slides and nicely appointed. It is just the two of us with no pets and non-smokers. We are going to stay in Custer and would be willing to pay someone to rent it to us, deliver it and set it up. We just want to show up and camp for a week. Thanks in advance!
  • You might have better luck renting one of the cabins at the KOA there. SIL say they are really nice.
  • Not interested in one of the cabins. Have looked into that option. Just not what we are looking for. But, thanks for the input.
  • From what I've seen, rental trailers are travel trailers not fivers and they are older units. If that bears out for you as well you won't have nearly the choice in models or amenities.
You'd do better renting a motor home as they tend to be newer but not very big.
  • Dakota Rv, Jacks Campers & Mid States Campers in Rapid City rent, deliver and set up towable RVs in the park of your choosing. They may also have driveaway( MH )s for you .
    Enjoy your visit to SD.
  • I have been looking at Jacks Campers. Cannot find anything about rentals on the Dakota RV website?
  • Fort WeLikeIt campground rented trailers last time I was home ... a few years ago.
  • People at Jack's Campers are awesome. When our 5th wheel burned in Ccabelas parking lot we went to them so we could continue our trip to Alaska. They let us stay on the lot until insurance came thru never charged us. They became like family. We even stopped last year on our way to Yellowstone. Talk to Kevin McCarty in Mitchell tell them Gayle and Dana says hello

Call the campground(s) you might want to stay at and ask them if they have any recommendations. Also, you might check the local Craigslist. Here in Phoenix, there's a web site that manages RV owner rentals; might be something similar there.

Guess none of those folks (Jacks Campers/Mitchell) belong to this forum.

Was up there just browsing fivers a few months back. They were quite pleased to find out that your story had a good audience from here, and that they had received such kind words about their business.

They do seem to be some pretty good folks.
