Thanks for replying to my post guys, I really appreciate any feedback. This is all good info for me to take into consideration. I noticed some questions and I will try to answer them to give you guys a better scope of the situation.
Truck Stats
GVWR - 9,200 lbs
GAWR FRT – 4,670 lbs
GAWR RR – 6,084 lbs
Cargo Weight Rating – 2,317
K2500 Crew Cab Short Box HD (4WD) 4.10 Gears – 9,900 max tow, 16,000 lbs max truck and trailer
Up to 2,500 lbs max for Fifth Wheel or gooseneck kingpin.
Lanerd, from Ridgecrest CA – Here are the weights that I found. As I mentioned in my post though, from what I have come across, the weights don’t seem realistic. Then again I am extremely new to this world of trailers.
Weekend Warrior LE3105 – 6,875 lbs, tongue 1,525 lbs GVWR 16,000
Weekend Warrior SL2505 – 4,940 lbs, tongue 1,235 lbs GVWR 10,400
Weekend Warrior SL3005 – 5,180 lbs, tongue 1,295 lbs GVWR 10,400
These numbers seem too low, especially the LE3105. I know that this is a limited model list, but I do not know of any models that are similar in weight and cost. Considering that these models were only produced for a limited time during the mid to late 2000’s, they fall within the $20,000-15,000 range, which is my goal. If you know of any that are similar to this fill me in.
If this helps
Dirtclods, from Newport Beach CA – Yes, good point on adding the extra weight to account to gear. We do not have any toys yet not sure when that’s going to happen. Thanks for the input.
Dsnuggles, from Los Angeles CA – Yes, it does seem as though I would be pushing it if I was to purchase the LE3105. Funny thing is, when I tell people that my max tow is 9,900 they don’t believe me. They say that it seems low for my truck. Not unless im reading the manual wrong that is the number that I am coming up with. And yes, I too have seen lifted trucks tow a 5er I just didn’t know besides the flipping axle job of anything else. My family and I live in Corona, CA (Fullerton and Foothill).
tinner12002, Lafayette Ind– Thanks for the info – I have read about the lawsuit relating to Weekend Warriors and the frame issues. Im just not finding any lighter weight 5er’s that are tow haulers. You are right; I may need to start looking at TT’s considering my lift.
schlep1967, Harrisburg, PA – Yes my truck did come with BF Goodrich Mud Terrain TA KM2 35’s range D. Would I need to change them out if I were to go with a fifth wheel because of the hitch weight on the axel? Thanks for responding.
