- FlatBrokeExplorer IIOur 11 bighorn had no low point drains. Our current trailer has 3. Sure works good. Now I only blow out to winterize and use a couple of cups of antifreeze on the drains. Much faster and cheaper.
- mudmakerExplorerI pumped mine out, blew out with air and pumped in the pink stuff. No problems. No low point drains. Had a coachmen chaparral that didn't have any low point drains either.

The air goes in one end of the line and blows anything in its' way out the other end of the line...I don't know how anything in the low point of the hose wouldn't get blown out. There is no tee in the line to fill up with water. Trying to blow out a line with a low point drain that wasn't open would cause a problem but these don't have a tee in them for that. Heartland did this to eliminate an area that was exposed to the outside and could freeze. I have had zero problems with mine freezing without the low point drains.B.O. Plenty wrote:
No problem to winterize. Just blow the lines out or pull anti-freeze through the system. Never a problem with mine through our sub-zero Winters.

I would think because it isn't open, water would remain in the pipe because the air would have no way of going to the low points causing a potential for the water to freeze. I am just curious as mine has the drains and if I blow out the pipes with air and then open the drains, those pipes hold quite a bit of water. Way more than I would feel comfortable with. Just saying.

B.O. - kakampersExplorerNot sure....have always been fulltime in ours....
- powderman426ExplorerQuestion. If there are no low point drains, how does one winterize??:h
- kakampersExplorerIf it's only one line it's probably fresh water tank drain...when they did have low point drains there were two...one red, one blue.
- My 2010 Big Horn 3500 has a low point drain about even with the sewer outlet and 2 ft in. It's easily seen.
- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIWell it seems they discontinued them............

Short story:
We do not have them anymore. If your unit was "produced" in February of 2008 or later, it is likely you "do not" have them. This was a running line change.
Long story:
Historically, we have not had them. Based on customer feedback/requests, we tried it out. Later based on negative customer feedback, we decided to eliminate them.
