Newbie question, but how do you get a dump station at your house? Is it easy? Do you need a permit? Will most towns allow it? We are looking to buy a house so we can keep our RV on the property (live in a city now). Thanks for the help. Sorry to jack the thread.
You simply dump your line into your sewer cleanout. In some case (if you get lucky) the clean out is accessible. From your drive way. In some cases you can hire a plumber to connect a new pipe and create an accessible clean out. In some cases it is not feasible to relocate your cleanout. In which case you can use a macerator to dump your tanks.
Back on topic, macerators are a great gadget for those who need them, however they do not need to be standard equipment. The stinky slinky gets it done 98% of the time.
Macerators are powered mechanical contraptions that are subject to more malfunctions and clogging than a typical stinky slinky. I use mine when necessary and they are a nice option to have, however I seldom use my macerator. I found my macerator on Craigslist for a bargain price. Otherwise I probably would not have one.
