I doubt you will get any compensation for the leak. Who will do the repairs for you?
And with the front leaking expect other leaks visible or not. Pull everything you can - drawers, cabinet sides/floors etc inspect for water marks and dry rot with a ice pick. Go over every square inch looking for issues.
