I had Maxxis M8008s on my last trailer. One tire lost pressure, fortunately the TPMS alerted me and I stopped w/o damage. The cause of failure was not clearly visible but leak check at the nearest tire shop found multiple cracks in the bottom of the tread slots near the sidewall.
I decided to replace all four tires as a precaution and during the 30 mile drive to the nearest Discount store, the other tires were ballooning and touching the fender skirt and the underside of the trailer floor on just the slightest bumps. These tires showed the same cracks but did not loose air pressure. Tires were just over 3 yrs old per the date code.
While Maxxis may be one of the best ST tires, even they have failures. There doesn't seem to be many reports of failures with LTs.
