Maybe overweight???

I just spoke with a chap towing a brand new 39’ Cedar Creek 5er on his “maiden” voyage. His TV was a 2009 Chevy 2500 SRW, DMAX. He told me his new 5er weighed about 16500#. The 5er was a beautiful unit with six point auto level and dual air conditioners. The TV, maybe not so much, due to the headlights pointing to the sky and the rear tires having very little tire tread remaining. He told me it towed “great”. Good luck, my fellow camper, and safe travels to you.

  • Well, I'm not going that heavy but next year were going to a 13k 5ver. I know I'll be over gvwr but under axle and tire rating. Not concerned at all.
  • BeerCan..thanks for the info. The only difference that I was aware of is that I have tire tread left on my tires, a 3 instead of a 2 on the front badge, and my headlights point straight ahead instead of pointing into the sky.

  • The differences are IIRC (SRW)

the rear spring block is a different height
the f350 (until 2013) had hydroboost brakes instead of vacuum boost
The gvwr printed on the b pillar
    overload spring on the rear
I think front spring is 1 level up
the front badge says F350 instead of F250
Some speculate that the axles have a different # of splines but I personally think they are the same.

    So very minor differences.
  • Hey Lakeside! What is the physical difference between your 350 SRW and Ford 250 of the same year? Bigger motor, different diffs, different tranny, different springs, different brakes. different rear GAWR? What is the real difference? Chris
