My RIB blowup over the weekend and damage the trailer.I am done with them they are not right for use on the FW.
You have a very heavy 35' Kountry Star that you were using G614 tire at 3750 lbs capacity. You then replaced them with a set of 3042 lb rated XPS Ribs knowing your trailer had right at 12000 lbs on the axles. You ran them for 5 years and 16000 miles and now are complaining because one tire has a bubble on the sidewall and saying their not right for a FW !!! :S
Agree with JIMNLIN, sounds like buc1980 should have had G rated tires and not E rated tires on his 5er.....it has been pretty consistent in here that the E rated XPS RIB be used within their recommended weight limits, a max of 6,000# axles, ( though some who run 3 axle 5er's are able to use them in that application, if again, axles are rated at 6,000#)....I was HIGHLY tempted to put the RIBS on my 5er when I first purchased it back in 07'...I got rid of an 04' Coachmen Somerset that I had put the RIBS on (6,000# rated axles), BUT, tires on the HR are "G" rated tires, 7,000# weight rated axles, so I bid "adieu" to the RIBS and stayed with G rated tires due to the weight of the HR.
