When we've done winter trips, I leave everything winterized until we got to our destination, then de-winterized. Before heading back to Indiana, I winterized again.
We're going to Florida over Christmas. I'm not de-winterizing until we get there, even though we're planning on taking 2 days for travel there, and 2 days for travel back.
We add no water to anything until we've reached our destination. Between home and "there" we have containers with water, and we use a port-a-potty that can be dumped in any bathroom toilet, rinsed and used again.
You never know what the temperatures are going to be, even heading South. I play it safe. I simply cannot afford the time or the money to replace frozen "anything" except, frozen T-bone and Rib-Eye steaks once they been cooked! That's the ONLY thing that get's thawed on our winter trips!
