  • 12 ram 3500 pulling a 34ft,. 5er with 12ft.aluminun trailer with 900 RZR.10 mpg @ 70 mph. Empty 15@ 80mph. If I run 60-65 loaded mpg drops to 8.5-9.Run about 73 get around 11mpg. Truck has 3.73 gears. if I were to change trucks I would get 4.10 gears. these miles are from Montana to Oregon or Utah. Mountain passes and windy, average elevation 4000ft.
  • We have a 2011 F250 HD. Our average is about 17-22 without the 9400 pound 5th wheel and so far 12-15 with the trailer @ 60-65mph. Have only been out with the 5th wheel a few times.
  • 2013 Ford F-250 Diesel short bed pulling a 12,000 pound 35' Silverback 29RE 5th wheel. I drive like there's an egg between my foot and the gas pedal.

21.0 MPG with the truck alone on the highway
16.5 MPG with the truck alone around town
12.2 MPG hauling the 5th wheel today from Seattle to Yakima - 115 miles over a 3,100' pass at 60 MPH. I am not in a hurry to spend money on diesel.

12.7 MPG on the return trip from Yakima to Seattle.

  • We have a 30' TT about 9K', a 2004 (really 2003) 2500 diesel dodge PU. When driving without the TT we average 19 - 21 mpg, towing 9-11 mpg.
