I can understand both of your sentiments but will somewhat disagree due to experience. Our current Bullet 27RBPR has the outdoor kitchen, with electric fridge, sink, stove, TV hookup and a few cupboards for storage (no micro). We use that kitchen as much if not more than the indoor kitchen which is why we would prefer to have it on the new fiver.
Rain/Leaves - the outdoor kitchen doors typically fold UP which means the door is your awning.. We've never experienced either rain/leaves in out kitchen and actually have stood under it instead of the awning during downpour.
Small sink - True, it's good for rinsing hands, washing face and rinsing items but I wouldn't do a ton of dishes in it (i have but inconvenient). Think of it as your bar at home..
Electric Fridge - we typically camp where we have electric anyway and if not, we have generator. None issue for us.
Wasted Interior space - Yes, it takes away from indoor space but usually not noticable. Doesn't really take away from storage as we have our fire cooking gear in there, booze in cupboard, mix/water in fridge, ice, cups, plates, etc. so that is storage in it's own that would otherwise be inside somewhere. Only difference is all this is right beside us and 'stored' by closing door.
Different strokes for different folks, but we love ours.
