Ok, i found the answers to most of my questions. Both the 2020 and the 2018 models that I’m considering have the same upgrades. Auto leveling system, whisper ducted AC, upgraded 16” tires, same outside kitchen.
So here’s where I’m at with this. Yes, there is clearly a depreciation factor that needs to be considered, but $7K+ isn’t chump change. Also, I’ve kept each of my past 2 campers for over 5 years. I wonder how much of a depreciation difference there will be 5-6 years from now between a 2020 model and a 2018. Probably not all that much, but it’s worth looking into.
One feature that the 2018 model has that the 2020 doesn’t is a 3 cushion sofa in place of the traditional booth dinette, so it has 2 sofas side by side. I know that most people like dinettes, but I never have. In fact, I don’t think we’ve ever sat more than 2 people in ours at the same time. This configuration utilizes a portable table that locks into floor mounts in front of both of the sofas. I like that concept, personally, but it’s not a deal breaker.
