Mold means moisture is getting there from somewhere/somehow.

And the pimpleing was the first sign of water damage on my older trailer.
You can do all the caulking and checking you want but it is surprising where leaks can come from. I looked for weeks to find one that was coming from a screw holding the awning bracket. No signs from the outside until taking the screw out and finding the rusted threads.
Now if I see any rust on the head of screw, things get checked out.
