Mont. High Country, Moving Wall

I have a 2016 Montana High Country, 305RL, and when putting out or moving in the kitchen slide the wall between the entry door and the slide moves between 1/2 and 1 inch at its base.
Has anyone had this problem and if so what was the fix?
  • Is the slide jerking when it moves? You may have to clean the sides of the slide out. That slide gives me more trouble that the others, because I assume it is the heaviest.
I cleaned the exterior walls of mine with denatured alcohol, then sprayed WD40 Specialist with PTFE under the slide behind the seal. Clean and lube the seals.
  • More than likly the base of your wall has broke loose. Needs to be bolted back down.

    X2!
  • While uncommon, it has been known to occur. The wall *IS* broken and will need to be repaired. Join the Montana Owners Club (MOC), a free to play forum, at montanaowners.com There you will find the experiences of at least two HC owners with broken walls.
  • Dang, I got focused on how bad mine sometimes jerks and didn't address the wall moving.
I'll watch my wall the next time I move that slide.
    Good info, thanks.
  • I have a 2016 Montana HC 375FL. Had the exact same problem in July. The unit was 5 weeks out of warranty, however the repair was covered by Keystone. It was a wall stud that broke loose at the bottom. The dealership accessed by peeling back J wrap on the outside , rewelded the broken stud and added additional bracing. You cannot even tell that it has been repaired they did a great job.
  • Don't have the wall problem but my slide was jerking severely. I cleaned the bottom and bearing strip under the slide as best I could with 90% alcohol and then treated with WD-40 Specialist Dirt & Dust Resistant Dry Lube PTFE Spray. Slide operates now with no jerking at all. Thanks for the tip.
