Hi,
I am considering an upgrade to smooth out the ride of my trailer. I have an Open Range trailer that is about 13k loaded and has Lippert equalizers. Truck is a Ram 3500. Ride is pretty level.
On highways with expansion joints or bumps I get some pretty noticeable jolting which I think is chucking. I do not feel that I am light on the pin either.
I was considering a Morryde Pin Box to resolve this issue but then I read an article about the SRE4000 suspension they offer. It said that the suspension upgrade reduced the bounce of the trailer and therefore also reduced chucking. Makes some sense.
What do you think is the best bang for my buck? A Morryde pin box, the SRE 4000 upgrade, or the cheaper CRE3000? The latter two are cheaper to buy, but I am not sure what the cost of labor will be. Seems they will cost more to install than the pin box.
thanks for your help
Matt
Going from a fifth wheel with nearly the same weight with a standard pin ,and suspension , to one with the MorRyde pin box ,and suspension night ,and day difference in the ride.
IMO , not knowing costs, I would go MorRyde pin box to start, most likely will solve your issues without anything further.
