Motorhomes and Oceano dunes

Not sure if I should have posted this in the class A section but I'm thinking there will be more experience in this forum.

I have a friend bringing his class A out to the dunes to camp with me. I've been going there for the last ten years with my fifth wheel, so I know about airing down and coming in at low tide. Is there anything else that's going to help out my buddy when he bring his motorhome out there? One issue I already see is his front valance is so low, I don't think there is any place I can hook up the tow strap to if he needs a tug.
  • There's a full hook up campsite about 10 minutes away. I know it's not camping directly on the beach, but you won't have to worry about getting in and out. They (or both of you) can camp there and truck it over to the dunes.

Maybe drive it in for him assuming he has no experience driving in the sand.
Might not be friends any more. :(

Wonder why the tow truck operators like to hang around?
  • Maybe drive it in for him assuming he has no experience driving in the sand.
  • Speed, speed and more speed........ and post pics of when he gets stuck....

If nothing else works, hook onto his tow hitch and pull him backwards. Maybe a little running start will be all he needs.
It's better than tearing up the front trim of the Class A.
  • I'm sure you have seen the YouTube vids of people trying to Bonzai out of there at the last min. And several are class A's
