Moving a 5th/W
A friend of mine has someone who needs a 5th/W moved about 280mi. What do you think I should get money wise. It's only one way.

Ken maybe it is just a Texas thing.
I did just what you are talking about this last winter. It was not as far only about 30 miles.
The only thing I got was a thank you and that was all I wanted. Two weeks ago that friend did some work for me and all he wanted was a thank you for the work.
We were both happy and still good friends.
I have never done anything like this that I didn't get paid many times over what it cost.
Anything other than for a friend and fuel, you get into a real grey area of the law and liability if there is an accident while moving. The fuel may also be grey, and that would be considered payment for hauling, making you and your TV commercial. :S
