As long as you are reasonably level, you could open the slide a bit. Just if you pull to the side of the road, and the passenger side is say 3" lower than the drivers side, I would not chance it, and have a slide out go off the track or something.
Personally, I would not buy a fifth wheel without access to the refrigerator. Your feedback to the dealer is going to get back to the factory, and they will say "I will not keep taking delivery of trailers I can not sell" and the factory will come out with a new design.
