We do it too, HOWEVER, we just attended a national rally for the Drv brand and there was a seminar presented by Lippert representatives. These 2 guys travel the country and teach rv technicians how to diagnose & repair Lippert products. They mostly were addressing hydraulic slides. They said you should not put out the slides unless you are putting it out all the way. According to them, in the long run you will have less problems. Hmmmm, now what to do, we often stop in an area that I would not feel comfortable putting the slide out all the way.
So how far (hours) are you traveling point A to B in one day?
"We often stop in an area that I would not feel comfortable putting the slide out all the way."
What kind of area are you referring too?
We have had 0 problems stopping at a rest stop, truck stop or any place else and putting a slide out ALL the way for a short period of time.
Having a galley slide where the refer is not accessible with the slide in is certainly not a deal breaker...you will adjust accordingly.
