Mud Flaps

We seem to splash mud onto the front of the 5er even when we are only driving on pavement. What kind of mud flaps can all you experts recommend that will prevent this? Thanks.

Not so much the kind or brand, but how close to the ground they are. The closer to the ground the bottom is the less splash on the 5er.

I have similar ones like these but added a 4"-5" or extension to make them longer so when 5er is hooked up, truck squats the rear end down so the ext aid in keeping debris off the front of 5er.

I have had Road Wings on my trucks for many years along with regular mud flaps. They are similar to the Rock Tamers. They stay on the whole towing season. If we are not hooked to the 5th wheel we may have the boat in tow. I actually wish more people had mud flaps of some kind to minimize the stuff thrown around by the tires. Might lessen windshield damage.
  • Rock Tamers are in the same league as those air wing deflectors on the top of truck cabs running around in loaded. Nobody removes the darn things when not towing.
  • Aluminum diamond plate on the front of the FW also helps. :B

  • ProFlaps on the truck, and also RockTamers for the hitch. They are the best hitch mounted mud flaps I have seen.
