Seriously, I guess those of us who made a bad decision in others eyes are out numbered here.
I truely hope someone sees this post, gets past the negativity and has an ah ha moment realizing they evaluate not only the tread, but the age of the tires.
I have a significant commute so my car tires rarely last past 2 years, hence I've never dealt with sidewall issues. I have read many tales like this as well as I am aware of the DOT required manufacture date.
Many years back I bought a boat and trailer which had the original tires was 10 years old with hardly any wear and only minor checking on the sidewalls. I sold it 2 years later with the same tires.
Oops, I promise to say my Hail Mary's tonight.
