My pick-up’s capacity

A question for you guys.

I have a 2016 Sierra diesel All Terrain 2500 and I need it to pull a 38,5 foot Big Country with a weight of about 15, 500 Ibs.

I have no problem pulling it but is it safe and legal or is it overload ? Thanks in advance for your advice.

It doesn't, and the makers of the bags will state that right up front.

*Over Axle rating can be a legal issue
**Over GVWR can be a legal issue in some Canadian Provinces

Old-Biscuit is right, as to overloaded. You could handle a FW up to about 14K, and stay within axle/tire rating. Legal issue is likely, with 15.5K wt, depending on the laws in the Province you are traveling.

That weight 5er is likely to put you over tire and axle rating.
Just a thought, had a guy in our storage yard that pulled/carried a 16,000 GVWR high 5er with a newer F350 SRW, the next season he had an F350 DRW, just food for thought.

  • Legal? No laws against stupidity
Safe? Again no laws against stupidity.
2500 series trucks are good for about 12000 GVWR fivers.
