I've checked with the LT tire makers for years before you ever pulled a RV and up to just last month and I haven't found what your implying to be true.
Jim as you have said many times, get away from the retail tire shops and find a good Commercial Tire shop and all this BS will fade away. Commercial Tire shops deal with customers that have to make a living with their rigs and cheaply made over rated tires just do not cut it for their clients.
I still think 60 Minutes or 20-20 should do a segment on trailer trailers. The marketing of this product to the unknowing borders on ....deceit!
Not many other important consumer products play such a shell game, where construction falls so short of claimed capabilities.
