Need advice choosing a hitch

Hello everyone,

We just purchased a 2000 Freightliner FL60 to serve as the tow vehicle for our 2008 Teton Reliance....now I need tips on the hitch to install.

The truck is basically a cab and chassis for now...probably will install a flatbed in the near future. The rear axle is 12k pounds.

The trailer is approx. 24kpounds....approx. 5,000 pin weight.

I am looking for suggestions on what hitch to use...appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,
Phil

  • ^^^^^ I have hitched and unhitched a RAM/CURT 25 a few times. Unless the stars are aligned not always simple. Also a no go for me being Made In China.

B&W Makes a deck mount hitch that would work well. Solid, simple to hitch and unhitch and yes 100 percent US Made.

Several reports with chucking because of the heads pivot point being loser than the kingpin height.
  • I would look into the anderson hitch. 30 pounds and so easy to take off the gooseneck ball
