Need GAWR for 2003 Titanium

If anyone has a unit like ours, a 28E33SB, we need to get the GAWR figures (front and rear axles) so we can get our unit weighed shortly.
The info has been obliterated/faded so we can't read it and can't find any further online info so far.

Perhaps someone, somewhere can provide this, or direct us to a source.

Thanks!

  • You can check your tires and get a close estimate of the most you 'should' load on the axles. If you have 8 lug 16" rims with 3,042 pound rated tires, then you probably also have 6,000 pound rated axles. Otherwise 5,000 pound or less would be installed with 15" rims and lesser tires.

Personally I would order a new RV with disk brakes and heavier axles than what the trailer will require. Just so that my 3,000 pound rated tires will only see around 2,600 pounds on them! Or if the trailer must have 3,000 pounds on each tire, I would want 17.5" rims with a 4,000 pound rated tire and rim. .

If all else fails, you can call this company, they can tell you where to look for the model number on your trailer axles, and they can tell you a model number XYZ is rated at so many pounds. .

    Good luck,

    Fred.
  • Glendale RV MFG went bankrupt at end of 209 so lots of info has n=been lost.
Heartland RV bought rights/patent and produced some models with the 'Titanium' cap

As suggested ...check your tire load ratings
That model had roughly an 8500# Dry weight so expect 6K axles

HERE is a link to Titanium Owners Group. They should have info
  • There may be a metal ID tag welded to the axle tubes or maybe steel stamped in the axle tubes which means get a flashlite and crawl under and take a looksee.

If the axle rating isn't there then look for the make of the axle and do a 1-800 to their tech folks.

A big rig trailer repair shop can look at it for you and tell you what you have if you have one in your area..
  • In addition to the wheel and tire data sticker fading away on the outside our Carriage has a complete data sheet for the trailer pasted to the back wall of the kitchen cabinet - axles, appliances, electrical equipment, HVAC etc. Maybe your trailer has a data sheet in a cupboard somewhere.
  • On rear of axles is a number stamped copy and contact Dexter axles and they will give u axle and spring ratings.6 stud 16" rims No 5000lbs axles all 6000lbs maybe 5000lbs springs, 8 stud 7000lbs or higher.

Some units have weight information on a tag inside a cabinet door in the kitchen.
  • Thanks to all for their responses. The info we're looking for isn't anywhere on the unit that we can find (we're the 2nd owners). Will try calling Dexter or ETrailer.com. The place it will be weighed needs a specific GAWR number, as we understand it.

  • Skipperkey,
The dry weight of a 2006 28E33SB Titanium is 8,550 lbs and the GVWR is rated at 10,804 lbs,dry pin weight is listed as 1,517 lbs

    Cheers Rick T.
  • Glendale installed different axles under different size trailers during any given model year, so there is no way to answer from here.

As suggested; if you go over to the Titanium Forum (www.titaniumrvowners.com) and register, someone will tell you how to look up the manufacturer's info in the files section.

Otherwise you need to get the axle serial number (one number covers the set) off of the center of one tube and call Dexter.

I'm not clear just who is going to be weighing it or why, but I don't understand why they want axle info.

I have run across CAT Scales with various trailers three or four times over the last ten years and they never cared what I had for axles as long as I paid the fee.
