Need new tires

I would not order from Amazon, as this would be a good place for an overstocked dealer to move old stock. I would feel safer ordering from a place like E-trailer, where you can talk to a person, and explain you will only accept tires with a date code not more than a year old.

My MAXXIS 13" tires i just received from AMAZON are dated "2316". Thoughts? Each tire will be carrying at the most 1,000#.

OP I would go with the new US Made GY tires.

As I said there are now a few tires with the new M speed ratings. Easy to find.. These are rated 81 MPH for example..

You cant believe everything you read about a certain tire having blow outs and are considered a junk china bomb..

There are just too many variables that are not told.

Examples,

hitting a nail or sharp object at highway speeds
Under inflation for the weight being carried.
Trailers with duel axles having the tire sidewalls flexed, pulled, pushed ect from owners making sharp turns backing in their trailers.
Driving faster then 65 MPH.


There is so much these owners dont tell you or dont really know why they got blowouts in the first place. Once the tire shreds apart it would be hard to tell what caused it..

I had 2 sets of Maxxis tires on my last Jayco but I ran into an issue when one blew. Discount Tire is the only dealer around here for Maxxis and they never have them in stock. I blew one in San Diego and had to purchase another brand to get home. I went with Carlisle RH 2 years ago and so far it has been an excellent tire.

Either you got lucky, or you got an early set of the new model tires. :-) There are people who have reported having other brands of China bombs on the spare rack, never having touched the ground, spontaneously exploding after only 2-3 years. Carlisles, for decades, were lumped in that category, too, but no longer. I would likely have a set of Maxxis on my FW, but they did not have them available at Discount Tire and I needed tires NOW, not in 2 days, so went with the Carlisles. At this stage, I'd have no problems buying another set for a FW < 11-12k GVW.
