Need recommendations for a cover

Well we are getting ready to put our 2013 Coachmen 328RES 5th wheel to bed for the winter and I'm currently shopping for a cover. Main question I have is should I get a water resistant cover or a water proof cover? Price difference between the two seems to be significant. Don't get much snow or bad ice around here but camper is stored off site and will be sitting for about 3-4 months.

Looking for a food not too overly priced cover to last for years
  • To be honest, I'm not sure about "water proof vs. resistent". What I do know is that you want one with fabric that "breathes", i.e. one made for the purpose. Moisture will form underneath the cover, so you want one that will allow that to dry. When looking under mine after a rain, the sides have a very fine mist on them, which dries quickly. Most covers designed for rvs will do this. Hope that helps.
  • I've been happy with my Adco Tyvek. Will be using it for the 6th season this year. Of you're storing off sure, I would check it often, especially if in a windy location.
  • For many previous posts on this subject search this Forum for `RV cover'. You could limit the responses by searching only in the Fifth Wheel section. We use a Sunshield tarp as I have explained many many times.
