By the way I've had two highspeed blowouts on LT tires. They are not the holy grail
No tire is fail-proof if it is run low on air. "High speed blowouts" are what you get when tires are run at highway speed and significantly under-inflated as seen in this tire.
I agree with the industry, most blowouts are low pressure. I have had many new trucks with LT tire. My quality factor was "did the tire make full life without a failure. Goodyear tires never made it. Michelin would always make until about 5-6 years ago, then the side wall cracking started and all the other type of problems creped in There were quite a few years where I had to air up 2 - 3 LT tires just to make it into work. LT tires are not the answer. Better quality is. The HD truckers have is figured out. Use steering tires on the trailer. They didn't have to buy new rims and go up a few sizes in tires.
