There is a lot of heat here. The big question to me is that if 55% of RV's are exceeding the tire load, shouldn't the tolerances of the tires be increased to provide a safer margin? Passenger car tires have a wide safety range beyond the printed limits. Are RV owners more careless than the rest of the vehicle owners out there? Why are we experiencing such a significantly greater rate of tire failure?
Another question I have is: Why do ST tires have only a 65mph speed limit? Given the roads we travel on, shouldn't the tires have a bit of margin? I don't tow over 60, but a lot of people apparently do. In the interest of safety, shouldn't the tires be more forgiving?
