RE Salesman. IMO most "salesmen" today are order takers and may be selling washing machines one week TVs the next followed by Tires. people shop on price so businesses are not going to spend $$ on training that they can't pass on via higher pricing.
We only get what we are willing to pay for. Low price = Low information or knowledge.

Carlisle apparently is upgrading ST tires from 62 to 65 and has marked the higher speed tires with the "J"
