Need tire suggestions
My 5th wheel weighs about 13,000 lbs dry and 15,000 loaded. I currently have ST235-80R16 on it. I checked the max weight for these tires and they are 3500lbs at max pressure. Had a blow-out and am going to change all 4. Discount tire suggested I go with ST235-85R16 as they have a 3900lb max load and would be better and safer. They have the heartland which is their home brand and much less expensive than the Carlisle. But after reading all the posts from the past 6 months, it seems the group does not like the Carlisle and there's not much experience with the Heartland. Seems like the Maxxis is the preferred winner. Then my 2 neighbors both told me to put truck tires on the RV. But all the truck tires I found for 16" wheels do not support 4,000lbs each. Then I watched a couple of videos on utube from experts that say do not put truck tires on your RV as they don't dissipate heat well, and the ST series do. But my neighbors have the truck tires and they love them. But their RVs weigh much less than mine. So please help me decide, Carlisle or Maxxis? Or Truck tire, and which one? I make 1000 mile trips and don't want to get stuck. Many thanks for your thoughts! I live in Arizona with big time heat.
