need tires for my toy hauler.

Even though my tires are but 4 years old I see the sidewalls have dry rot and I guess its time for a new set. Originals are Carlisle 225-75-15 load range D. I am looking online and it seems most places sell the Maxiss tire in this size. Is this a good tire? I was thinking for a few dollars more I could get the load range E tire which I guess couldn't hurt. My trailer gross weight is 11,200 lbs.
I would appreciate any feedback on the tire brands that are available for trailers.

    My 40' toy hauler weighed in at 15,000lbs loaded. I put Michelin XPS Ribs, not problems for 4 years now.

    You will get 3,000 suggestions for tires in this thread. Do some research on your own, and see what others say, then make your choice. We ALL have or favorites, or the ones we'll NEVER go back to again, because of a bad experience.

    I've run Maxxis and currently Towmax STR's in load range E due to 15" rims.

    So far, so good.

    BTW, Michelin XPS Ribs, only way to go. Or the Bridgestone equivalent. :)

    ST tires are all junk.

    My 5th wheel trailer weighs 11200 lbs also and came with ST225/75-15 D Marathons. I don't/won't use ST tires so made a deal on four BFG Commercial LT215/85-16 E tires. Bought four 16" six lug trailer wheels from my local equipment trailer manufacturer at 44 bucks each
    Ran the first set for 7 years and 55k miles and have 45k on the second set.
    I haven't heard of a Maxim tire but maybe some one has and can give you a recommendation.

    After about a year of reading RV & Truck forum posts, I decided to go with Michelin XPS RIBS tires. The comments about these tires were good to great, with several of the folks who used their trailers commercially with over 100,000 miles of travel a year indicating they got a lot more miles out of these tires than expected or when compared to other tires.

    The second choice would have been Maxxis tires.
