New 5er with painted front and rear cap

Not that important to wax it as it most likely has a base coat/clear coat paint job. Most of them don't fade. Mine was painted 3 years ago and still looks new with only occasional washings. Now the colored Gel coat caps..that's another story.

Don't need it, but sure helps the bugs come off. I too use Insulator Wax. I goes on easy with a sponge, just don't let it dry too much before removal.
