We really did it now. Went from 27' 5th wheel and 2500 duramax short bed truck to a 38' (39'11" overall length) 5th wheel and just purchased 2016 diesel chevy dually long bed. No more slider hitch nee...

I'm a B&W 'fanboy' according to some, so will recommend them wholeheartedly. Frankly, even if I didn't currently have a gooseneck trailer, I'd probably still buy the Turnover Ball GN base as well as the Companion. Never hurts to have that option, IMO. FWIW, I was able to tow a friend's trailer to CO and back this summer simply =because= I had the GN.
