Well I didn't get to the scale today but I did manage to lower the hitch and pull some measurements. Looks like I'm right at 2" off front to back now. It still looks really nose high when you see it from a distance but it actually measures real close. That would've put in around 5" high in the pics I posted, just looks like a lot more. Two inches I can live with and I've still got around 7-8" bed clearance.
Before you decide to leave it 2" high -look closely at the rear axle suspension position on level ground. Look at the equalizer position. It's position is showing you directly how much suspension travel you are giving up to absorb roadway bumps, potholes, bridge approaches......
