What do you pay for a new RV. We are looking at getting a 2018 5th wheel. There is a good chance that the dealer will have to have the factory make it for us. We will pay cash which means it won't be sitting on their lot for a period of time. What is the % off of MSRP that we should look for?
Don't discount the fact that a dealer's lender might have some incentive programs going to get you to finance. A guy at our church bought an =expensive= TT from Camping World in Mesa (MSRP ~$100k) and wanted to pay cash. They'd give him little to no discount unless he financed. Deal was 12 months same as cash. He thought this was a dumb-as-rocks "incentive" on their part (who wouldn't want a pile of cash to restock inventory NOW?), so took it so he could get a discount. After having it in the shop about 3 of the first 4 months he owned it (joking that he loved his "covered parking", since they kept it in the shop so much), he found out that there was no pre-payment penalty after 4 months, so he wrote them a check and paid it off. CW was pissed when they found out he did this and, when they started hassling him about warranty repairs, he showed them that he had deeper pockets than they wanted to mess with and they stopped. Story I heard was that he showed up "shopping" with his attorney in tow and made a point to be introduced to the GM to "explain" things. :B
