Gun safes can be several thousand pounds - I don't think any of the fifth whlrs are designed for that type of concentrated weight. If you do it, I'd put it in the middle of the floor between the frame rails which isn't a very handy spot.....
Why buy a new fifth whlr unless you just have an awful lot of money burning a hole in your pocket - not something a student would normally do? You're going to loose 20% - 25% by driving it off of the lot. Then you're going to be a newbie gun smith which will take several years to build a reputation and following before it results in a good paycheck. If you have to sell the fifth whlr for some reason, you won't even break even on it for several years.
If you're going the trailer route to save money, it's not as cheap to live in one as you think. You'd probably be better off in a small apartment (with a floor that can support the gun safe weight).
And another thought, I might have been wrong on the weight - check the door size before getting too far ahead of yourself. You're not going to get much of a gun safe through a small trailer door. It will probably be small enough that two people can carry it out the door and into the back of truck.
