a full sized chest is almost always good:E - GsportExplorerThe Solitude has a full size chest and a nice size closet..
- pennysmom09ExplorerWe looked at this unit at the Tampa RV show and were impressed. However, after a second look, I didn't see any place for our clothes in the bedroom.
- TheAmRheinsExplorerHere's my take on new RV companies... when a new company starts out the head guys call the best people they know to hire in their key positions. Since their product is new, they have a little more time to build a good unit. When the orders start rolling in, they have to step up production and then hire anyone and everyone to meet demand - resulting in lower quality.
So, I would not buy the very first one a new company made, but I would rather buy one that was built before they get so "big" that quality begins to suffer. - Mile_HighExplorer

I am thinking about buying a Grand Design fifth wheel, but the company is only 2 years old. Does anybody have thoughts about buying from a new company?
Bet you weren't bargaining for a counter space argument with this question :)
I bought from a 2 year old company, and there have been some growing pains. Things you would have thought they should have known were issues from experiences with other brands (given the employees all probably came from the other brands). On the upside, they are gunhoe about customer service and keeping you happy the first few years. - glazierExplorer III really like the floor plan in ours, I see no problem with counter space. I had zero problems buying a Grand Design from my dealer, they would not put us in a piece of junk. How well do you know your dealer? Service after the sale is important, trusting your dealer is the most important. All builders of fifth wheels us like components, choose the best fit for you.
- GsportExplorerRight now we are in our 3rd week of a 4 week road trip (about 3,000 miles so far) in our 39' Grand Design Solitude. We've had our unit for over a year now (unit #107) and absolutely love it. It has plenty of counter space and a huge pantry. I'd tell you my favorite feature, but there is so many. I'm 6'3" and like having the tall, 7' slides, taller/wider entrance door, king size bed, large shower, on and on. A super treat is the 6 point auto leveling system. I think I've found my perfect 5th wheel
- TucsonJimExplorer III purchased a Grand Design Reflection a couple of weeks ago. Model 337RLS. There is no issue what-so-ever for counter space. As previously mentioned, the Island, stove area and hutch provide more counter space that I've ever had in previous units.
We picked our unit up and just finished our first shake down. We had very few issues. This unit is built so much better than our previous Keystone Cougar which was a disaster.
If you have any questions about the build, quality or features, send me a PM.

Lots of glitter, but holy******there is no, zip zero nada counter space in the kitchens. Since we cook and live in our fiver we like decent counter space.
Had a look at the floorplans & have to agree. No working room in the galley, even the big one. Looks like most potential counter space was sacrificed for the big screen TV.
In the specs they only have a 60gal freshwater tank. Not much use if you are going to to do 3 night or longer dry camping events where there are no bathrooms nearby.
Lots of fluff.
Here. THIS is counter space.
At model length 34, LOA <36' it is not a monster trailer either. - azdryheatExplorerI almost bought a Grand Design Momentum. It looks like a well built unit.
