I've only had a B&W Companion. The BIL has had 3 others and recommended the B&W after buying his. He's a mechanic (over 30 yrs) at a major big truck dealer.
I remove mine by walking the base to the tailgate and then sliding it to the ground. Then walk to it's resting place. I do it with an artificial leg above the knee. The base is still in the 100 lb range.
I wouldn't change to another brand. After seeing some of others I'm glad the BIL steered me to this one.
