We were looking to buy a TT around $20,000 at most. Since we are now considering 5th wheels, I have seen that the prices are higher. Would it be alright to buy used? Or is new better due to warra...

All a function whether the seller owes anything and if they have it priced correctly relative to what the local market will bear. If you're thinking the fabled "35% off MSRP" on a used rig that people who buy new are forever claiming on this forum, don't think so..............
That said, the fifth wheel we traded in for our new TT had an NADA value of about $22K (NuWa HitcHiker LS, 8 years old) when we traded it, dealer allowed $17K on trade in value; I didn't care the out the door deal numbers worked for us and I didn't have to screw with selling it myself.
Don't know what became of that trailer, but if the dealer sold it, someone got themselves a sweet deal.................
