We bought first one used in a divorce deal. It was basically new, used probably only once or twice. Got a great deal. Kids came along and needed something bigger. Bought the second new with every intention of keeping for many years - which we have done. I would buy used again if looking at a late 2000's higher end model. I'm not one for fancy bells and whistles. I want function. The new ones seem to be all about "fancy" and not "function". My 15-year old model has been "customized" by me and I still plan on keeping it another five years minimum. A new fridge, A/C, etc. is still a LOT cheaper than a new model. I do ALL the maintenance myself.
Even if we were looking at replacing it, I can't find the model DW would like. She (and I) want a front LR with a bathroom that has the commode in its own room. One thing I can't stand is having the commode in the same room as the shower and sink. Too many reasons to list as to why I prefer the bathroom layout with the private commode.
