I had an "aha" moment while having dinner after looking at these units.
Am I correct in thinking that if we spent $35,000 on a brand new one, we would lose a lot of money if we decided to sell it in a couple of years, but if we spent the same money on a used model, we would lose a lot less if we decided to sell?
why would you even think of selling it in 2 years?
that makes no sense to me. You have made 30 threads and now you might not keep the trailer you decide on?
Your post makes no sense to me. Is there a certain number of posts beyond which I am not allowed to change my mind on a trailer purchase? What if something unforeseen came up and we had to sell it? What if we decided that the floor plan did not work for us, etc.? People have to sell for many reasons.
We have purchased both our units used. The first one we didn't to put a lot of $$ into as we weren't exactly sure what all we wanted. It was a learning unit for us...We learned what we liked and didn't like, what we definately wanted and didn't have to have. We used it for a few years and then I started shopping again for units with our requirements and in our price range. Being patient paid off and found our current rig that we've had since '08 and even though it is 10 years old, we'll keep maintained and keep for several more years. Both rigs total cost us under $30,000.
Slow down and do your homework.. Look at websites, like
RV Trader and
PPL Motorhomes to see and study the different types of floor plans. Think about the floor plans, think about how they will work, (can you get to fridge or bathroom with slides in, etc), if you have company with you, where will they sleep and all of their stuff go, what about the basement storage, etc..Don't get caught up in all the bells, whistles, and the "shiny" stuff. We think about the practical and then if it has bells & whistles, it's just icing on the cake!
Happy Shopping!
