MK,
Not as easy a decision for my family as many here would indicate.
The majority of the "used" 5vers we looked at seemed "dated" . And,
after many months (and stepping in to hundreds of fivers) we decided
to go "new". Our track record of holding on to RV's (last TT - used-
we owned for 10 years)... somewhat softened the oft reported fear of
"depreciation".(but reality...they all depreciate).
So, we focused on our perceived 3 main parts of the deal (to us)...
1)get the quality we wanted.. 2) get what we wanted on trade in,
(we knew we had a rubberized roof leak with the start of side wall delamination),
so I did not want to sell privately. 3) negotiate the "best" sale price we
thought we could get.
The trade in was flipped by the dealer in 10 days.... so, condition must have
acceptable to some buyer... they gave us $9,500.00 for our 10 year old trade.
This approached worked for us. I am not as handy as many here, still am
gainfully employed, so lack/don't want "projects" in my spare time. Best part
about all this... we enjoy camping, and our current rig meets our needs...
and is payed for.
Good luck... there is no perfect plan.
