They are most likely plastic, I have read about people fixing small holes in the water tank with different types of "bondo/glue/adhesive" If you can get to the hole without pulling down the tank, it will be easier to repair. Not sure on your trailer, but "generally" the tank in the back of the trailer is gray or black, not fresh.
