New Rapture Toy hauler

I just retired and bought a new toy hauler. My first trip is to NM for a 3 week long hunting trip. We will be dry camping where we hunt. I have a ton of questions. First one is securing my atv in the toy hauler. I figured I would set parking break, and turn off gas. How many ratchet straps are required to secure it from moving around during travel, 2-4? Also when packing the kitchen cabinets, is there any thing special I need to do to keep them from sliding around and possibly knocking the cabinet doors open and falling on the floor. Have lots more questions but will save them for next time. Thanks for any help for this first timer.

  • I turn off gas, run it out of gas and use 4 tie downs per vehicle.
DW does all the stocking of kitchen related stuff, anything heavy stays as low as possible.
I can only remember a cabinet door popping open one time, replaced the friction catch.

    1 ~ One .

    2 ~ Paper plates .
  • We do the same as Leo and Kathy. I also use squares of that nonslip shelf liner between my plates and bowls. Our kitchen is mid so not a lot gets bumped around My cabinets have never popped open in any of the five rigs we've owned. Yours should either. If you keep your supplies light, as opposed to cast iron skillets, the cabinets shouldn't pop open.
  • Can't help with the tie down straps - that is DH job!!! :)

But what I have done in the kitchen is to line each shelf with the rubber non-slip liner. I place as much as I can on one shelf - leaving little room for things to shift...then I use a spring loaded curtain rod across the front to keep everything in! As a matter of fact I use lots of those spring loaded rods throughout the TH!
