New Reese R16 Slider Hitch

I had my new Reese hitch installed in my new truck on Wednesday morning. I was all excited to go to the storage lot and hook up the 5er to see how the new truck towed.
I did all the usual stuff for hooking up and everything went fine, the green "hooked up correctly" tab on the new hitch popped out as it should. I exited the truck to put the hitch handle in the locked position, but could not get the handle all the way down, I tried removing my lube plate and that did not make any difference. Disappointed I went home and called Reese.
They connected me with Kirk in their engineering dept. He had me check several items on the hitch head and told me that it was one of the older designs and that they had made some changes to correct some hitching problems. He is sending me a new updated head. Reese costumer service was great to deal with and did not hesitate to replace the head. Now I have to wait a few more days to go hook up again. I will post how the new head works.

  • Good to hear Reese is taking care of you. Customer service from any company I support is very important to me. Unfortunately, not all corporations feel the same way. Congrats, from a neighbor in Acton.
