Hi,
So what kind of things are you interested in finding out about?
Do you ever want to try out boondocking, that is camping in forests, and other places? Or do you normally feel comfortable in campgrounds that have hookups?
Do you still have the truck to pull the RV? Are you asking how to hitch it up, unhitch, and set up in the campground, or do you know all these things already?
Do you feel comfortable towing the fifth wheel? Have you done that a lot already? How about towing into a gas station to fill up along the way? Some would rather unhitch the trailer at a RV park, then fill the truck before heading out the next day, some tow right into a crowded gas station, thinking nothing about it.
Hopefully you will know that you need to leave the black water tank valve closed until it is at least 1/2 full, (or wait one - two weeks and then fill the black tank with enough water to fill it 1/2 way, so that all the black stuff will get washed out, and not leave anything behind. Leaving the tank valve open, and only the water will leave, and piles can be left behind. Also if you do not add some water (1-2 gallons of fresh water) to the tank, the tank can go dry and turn the rest to a dry cracker of stuff. You don't want that either.
Do you have a 30 amp or 50 amp electrical service? If you are limited to 30 amps, then you need to be somewhat careful not to exceed 30 amps. So the A/C unit is about 12 amps, so is the coffee maker, microwave, toaster, and things like the electric heater and hair dryer. You can only run 2 at a time with a 30 amp service, while you can run 4-5 with a 50 amp service.
Let us know what else you are asking about, I would hate to make it to simple or to complicated. If you don't have a truck, letting us know what model and make of fifth wheel, and someone will look up the specs and help with what trucks can work well for you.
Fred.
