New to me Rage'n SS2400!

Hey All, just picked up a cherry SS2400 Rage'n Toy Hauler...my wife and I are so excited to get out and start using it!

Its a 2005 model, only has about 120 hours on the generator, the microwave and stove have never been used, it looks almost brand new inside. I'm currently staining all the cabinets and my wife is reupholstering the inside to make it ours.

I have some questions about maintenance and sealing. From reading around I can tell that making sure there's a good seal is very important for the longevity of the trailer, what kind of caulk do you guys use, just silicone, RTV? Same for roof maintenance, how do I tell what material my roof is and what I should use to protect it?

I'm also thinking of putting some solar panels on it to keep the batteries juiced up, any recommendations there that don't break the bank?

Anything else I should be on the look out for...or any other general tips for a lightly used 12 year old trailer?

  • Congratulations!

Man, how did the previous owners have it so long without ever using the stove or the microwave? Unreal.

    Have fun with it.
  • congratulations. We've enjoyed our Rage'n, no major issues relative to build quality.

Use Dicor to seal the rubber roof, that's your single most important thing. They use butyl tape (putty tape) covered by RTV. Check your tires, probably original and should be replaced, age is not friendly to trailer tires.
  • Thanks! Yea, she said they just barbequed all their food. Only took it out about once a year for 10 years lol.

For the roof, this is the right stuff? Do I just simple green the top, wash it off and let it dry then roll this on with a roller? Do you do it once a year? Appreciate all the help!
