New Trailers

Love my new ride, love my interior.

But beofre i leave this planet i just want to be the one who builds new campers for the salesman who sold me mine, the guy or guys who built mine, and for the pooor technician the did the walkthrough and tested each device.

My fault for not catching everything...but second time around and you spend at least three trips to the dealer to get the sewer cap fixed, the battery dsconnet fixed, the keys that would not fit either storage door on each side, wrong keys...finally climbed on top of the roof and love the ladder but you think the young lab would have climbed up their first and fixed the vent cap that was broke and at a angle. the dicor sealant that had holes in it. the bless them the for the leaves that fell in the dicor sealant that are now there till the end of time. The hot water tank that doesnt heat. I figure three trips are the average.
  • I guess I am a lucky one. I spent close to three hours going through the PDI on our current fiver. The dealer knew ahead of time how long I was going to take. Went in with a bag full of tools and went over every inch top to bottom inside and out. The dealer did a great job on getting my fiver ready. Only found a light bulb in vent hood out and a screw missing in the strike plate on the bedroom door along with a small scratch in the wood valance over the island.

Its been seven months and only one issue has cropped up, the grey take gate valve is leaking, easy fix, just waiting on new valve. RV World of Georgia did an awesome job prepping my unit even adjusted the brakes after they test pulled with my truck.

Yes I agree, i caught some of the items and they fixed them, got happy and left. got home and figured the rest out.

I swear that there is not one person that picks one up and doesnt find something wrong with it later.
I also agree. It would be a very rare occasion not to.

PDI checklists help, but still they do not catch every last detail. Picking up a brand new trailer can be overwhelming for some. Myself, I prefer to crawl over every inch of my new purchase at my leisure, once I get it home.
  • We did spend all day buying our last TT, we were more then a day from home and just passing thru, but we liked the TT and bought it. That was 3 years ago and we didn't see anything wrong except a string on a day night shade, and that was only 2 months ago.

trying to change my signature now...
  • Suppose to do your own PDI and get major items fixed before leaving lot.

Then fix the other stuff yourself while out camping
